The melding of Jupiter and Uranus consummated under this Scorpio Full Moon.
Jupiter cycles are 14 years. Jupiter corresponds to higher education, hero’s journey, legacy, story telling and learning through travel, to far off places, expansive thinking, miracles, luck—and that’s one of the main threads of this transit.
There was an evaluation I felt with this transit, as much as awareness around the cyclical nature of life. Jupiter is the one responsible for the constellations. It’s his textbook written in the sky. He determines what is worth being remembered.
Fourteen years ago I started a journey here—in Sinking Spring. And for months now, I’ve been wondering why I was forced back. It wasn’t my plan. And as Jupiter and Uranus meet in Taurus, what is revealed is both surprising and not at all.
Fourteen years ago, I was living briefly here, in Sinking Spring, since I hadn’t renewed my lease in Brooklyn—I had just graduated from NYU. I planned to write a book. Which is very Jupiter. I was getting prepared to move half way across the world—also very Jupiter, but didn’t know how I would, and then randomly got a letter in the mail one day with a plan to get me to study at Khyung Hee University in Seoul—which is very very very—Jupiter.
Fourteen years ago, I started an odyssey, and now I see how I have come full circle. I see how being here is a conclusion to the story I wanted to tell in 2010 but couldn’t because it wasn’t done being lived.
The surprise is in how obvious it should have been and in having friends over to celebrate (my birthday landed on the same day as this transit) that hadn’t been back to my hometown either for … 14 years.
But there is another circle. Uranus.
2018 is when Uranus entered Taurus and has been evaluating every attempt to build something for its strength, ever lasting potential and sustainability. And how much of it is in alignment with our values. This cycle is still midway to its completion but its run in with Jupiter gives it a boost.
The Uranus component felt like a full circle audit. A look back at how far you have come from the point of view of where you started—you see how following the old value systems got you to where you are now. Are those the same values that you want to base the next 14 years?
2018 was also the beginning of some huge revelations, breakthroughs and epiphanies that you have continued to pursue learning about. It might be clearer as to how these will become resourceful. Or what journey you need to embark on to allow them to be a resource for you.
Because there is still more to build.
Which brings us back to the full moon.
Scorpio is the alchemist— talented for using fire and heat to reshape and converge. This full moon in Scorpio is the wedding night, the sex that binds a contract of the marriage between two of your timelines: Jupiter’s odyssey that began in 2010 and Uranus’ that began in 2018.
But it is Spring, and Scorpio is debilitated in the moon, so Scorpio is not the death reaper, it is the fertilizer. Instead of externalizing the magic, the transmutation is received. It could embody us as enlightenment or confidence or calm.
If anyone can corral lightening, it’s a Scorpio. And that’s what kept echoing in my mind as I ruminated on Uranus and Jupiter meeting in the sky. Lightening meeting lightening. It’s bright. It’s a little bit threatening. It’s the kind of beauty that makes you wonder. It’s majestic. It’s ferocity.
Jupiter trained our minds and gives us direction. Uranus helps us innovate tools and systems. The Scorpio full moon alchemizes their integration: vision and foundation.

May 8th is a New Moon in Taurus—but the New Moon Club will meet the Sunday before on May 5th at 5 PM EST.
I will host a Write Away Mini: where we digest the astrology from January until now and adjust or affirm our alignment. We are story tellers. We all have a story. This Scorpio full moon reminds us that the world we create is the story we tell ourself. What is the story you want to be told about you—but also what is the story you want to be able to tell about yourself when you look back on your life.
Write Away will explore the transits as a way to write your own story. Astrology provides key dates to compare with our own personal timelines to deduce the most significant threads to follow.
Jupiter and Uranus are also known for their relationship with time. Jupiter is non-linear time; circles that last 14 years long. Uranus is time travel. And it is also surprising. Future oriented, and any time being the destination. Uranus only uses time as a framework to bend—break.
We will assess our personal timelines using the major astrology events so far this year: Pluto entering Aquarius, Mercury retrograde in Aries, Eclipse Season, Uranus + Jupiter transit. What meaning is emerging, from analyzing what was happening during these times? How can we use them to make a map for the way through the rest of the year.
