Yesterday, Mercury entered Aries and will stay in it until May 15th, because Mercury will retrograde in this cardinal fire sign, on April 1st. For perspective, Mercury spends around 21 days in a sign. Aries is also the sign of our first Solar eclipse this year—occurring on April 8th, 2024. The Lunar eclipse, on March 25th will be in Libra.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. It’s young, fresh, and it initiates. Aries is the original. It is a fire sign. Think of how the discovery of fire catalyzed so many other inventions, possibilities. Aries is spark more than flame. But, you can’t just strike a match, hold it to a log and expect it to burn.
The plight of Aries is tempering its momentum and devoting itself to what it initiates—so it doesn’t burn out. It can enjoy the process of starting things so much that it never completes anything. It just returns to ignition.
Mercury in Aries heard our intentions with the Pisces New Moon. We will have until May to build our fires. And with the retrograde, they may go out—but that doesn’t mean we can’t try again. We are learning how to maintain a flame—aiming for perfection will only burn us.
But—it’s still very wet. There is still alot of Pisces energy in the sky: Neptune, Saturn, the Sun, yesterday’s New Moon. And, tomorrow, Tuesday, Venus enters Pisces. These flames are passionate. The sparks might be new crushes. Not necessarily people, but projects, plans, studies, jobs, trips—look to what house Pisces rules for your personal themes.
Venus is exalted in Pisces. Venus planet of love, relationships and values exceeds her talents when in the sign of two fish. Pisces is spiritual and brings soul to Venus’ mates.
But a soul mate is not someone who completes you—but rather in relationship allows you to be more of who you are. Piscean connection is in the mutual acceptance of each other’s wholeness. Pisces is also the archetype of mother and child. And so the word soul mate expands again—embracing all the relationships we find significant and meaningful.
Venus in Pisces knows how having boundaries is what creates security and authentic abundance. Boundaries are our Venusian values. Boundaries don’t limit us. They are just, maybe for some of us, difficult to express. I can be a people pleaser. But Venus energy pleases herself. And when we lean into this, we expand our access to delight and ensure that what we attract is what we actually want.
Today, Monday, the Moon meets up with Mercury in Aries. This energy is great for starting things, but important to discern that what we start we also want to maintain—sustain.
And also, to remember that if your logs are not completely dry you make more smoke than heat. Waiting will produce a lasting warmth. If we rush our connections, they ripple in ways that may trip us up.
Bringing more smoke is the Sun as it forms a conjunction with Neptune. It exacts next week, on March 18th, when the Sun hits 27 degrees of Pisces. Neptune brings illusions, images, visions but in the way dreams speak to us. These can be potent but much room is left for interpretation. With Neptune enlightenment is felt more than reasoned. With Neptune we look with our third-eye not our two eyes.
We are continuing to use our emotional and intuitional intelligence. Trust your body. Aries energy is our survival mechanisms—our basic human needs. It is rooted in our instincts more than our intuition. Listen to both. Aries is the human body that armors the Pisces spirit.
Thank you to Rita, Portia, and Susan, who shared space with me last night in the first gathering of New Moon Club. I am still reverberating in the wave we created. Your encouragement gives me confidence. You are my blessings. I can’t wait til next month~ April 7th will be the next New Moon Club gathering. I hope more will join us!!
